COVID-19 PATHOPHYSIOLOGY PREDICTS THAT ISCHEMIC STROKE OCCURRENCE IS AN EXPECTATION, NOT AN EXCEPTION: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Background: Clinical reports of neurological manifestations associated with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), such as acute ischemic stroke (AIS) are increasing rapidly. However, there comparatively few studies investigating the potential impact immunological responses secondary to hypoxia, oxidative stress, and excessive platelet-induced aggregation on brain.
 Aim: This study attempted elucidate pathophysiological mechanisms peripheral consequential neural (central) inflammation leading COVID-19-related strokes. 
 Methods: A systematic search strategy was conducted across several electronic reference databases (MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, CINAHL) included articles published between January 2000 August 12th, carried out up 15th, 2020. Duplicate publications, review articles, incomplete were excluded.
 Results: The identified a total 1.539 (Table 1) resulted in 672 after duplicates removed. Of these, 206 passed screening process, resulting 20 for full-text assessment. Among them, 10 did not evaluate outcome interest insufficient details. Hence, we found appropriate included. Conclusion: affirms that contribution pathophysiology COVID-19 is predictive sequelae particularly stroke, which makes it expectation rather than exception.
